_NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED:_ This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
_LOCATION:_ 292nd Combat Communications Squadron Hawaii Air National Guard, Kahului, Hawaii.
_RECRUITMENT AREA:_ Present enlisted member (E-5 to E-7) of the US Armed Forces within the State of Hawaii.

_SUMMARY OF DUTIES:_
The purpose of the position is to serve as the Combat Communications Squadron radio frequency spectrum (RFS) program manager responsible for managing and maintaining the squadron's radio frequency spectrum program, wireless transmission systems to include radio and wireless Local Area Network (LAN) systems, and personal wireless communications systems (PWCS).
Coordinates frequency needs with command level spectrum management office to maintain current allocations and obtain new authorizations.
Manages ground-to-ground and ground-to-air radio frequency wireless communications systems.
Develops plans and procedures to support emergency and contingency operations in support of state or national requirements.
Determines, implements, and tests encryption technical solutions to protect sensitive or classified data during wireless transmission.
Administers the implementation of approved projects and contracts by planning and coordinating the installation, testing, and evaluation of wireless network designs.
Coordinates with higher headquarters (HHQ) elements, Program Management Offices, Specific System/Hardware Support Elements, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) vendors and vendor contracted support facilities for issue resolution.

_GENERAL
Experience:_ Experience, education, or training involving the knowledge of the needs of communications users. Experience using computer and automation systems.
_SPECIALIZED
Experience:_ Must have at least 36 months experience to configure and operate classified and unclassified telecommunications systems. Experience in understanding, evaluating, and translating the needs of communication users into requirements. Experience in developing, recommending, and implementing policies and plans. Knowledge of telecommunications systems security principles and methods. Experience developing training programs to ensure local requirements are met
and enhance the awareness of state-of-the art and future technology.
_MILITARY TECHNICIAN COMPATIBILITY:_ Prior to placement in this position, the selected applicant must be assigned to a valid position in the unit of employment, and be assigned militarily in DAFSC 3D1X3, Radio Frequency (RF) Transmission Systems Craftsman.
_OTHER Requirements:_ Must possess or be able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.

i. This temporary limited appointment may be converted to a non-temporary appointment without further competition.

k. This type of appointment is expected to extend beyond one year. Separation will be preceded by a 30-day notice when services are no longer needed. Permanent technicians will remain on permanent status if selected.
